The decks and windows of Royal Palm Yacht Club were filled with the
anxious faces of boys and girls as they watched the Caloosahatchee
River for signs of Santa's arrival. Soon they caught sight of a flash
of red, and as the vessel came closer, sure enough there was the jolly
man himself on the foredeck of a gleaming white boat! As captain
Philip Cartwright carefully brought the boat along side the Club's
dock, Santa himself jumped to the boards and soon was surrounded by
his eager fans. Comfortably established in his arm chair in the
brightly decorated Edison Room (thanks to the ladies of the Past
Commodores' Mates Auxiliary), and surrounded by piles of colorfully
wrapped gifts that his elves had already delivered, Santa began to
hear the Christmas wishes of all the girls and boys. Assisted by Elf
Madison, Santa gave each child a hand-made teddy bear (again, thanks
to the PCMA), a wrapped gift, and of course, a candy cane. They also
had an instant photo to remember Santa's visit, thanks to photographer
P/C Lars Larsen. Marv Market and Carol Market captured all the wonder
and joy of the children for our web site photos. Commodore Herb and
Ellen Schneider hosted the party, and especially thank our wonderful
Santa, and all Santa's helpers among members and staff for their
assistance in making it a wonderful holiday occasion for our
children. Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year to all!
