On this
cruise we visited the West Coast cities of Venice,
Sarasota, St. Petersburg and Tampa. For the most part
the weather really co-operated, but we did have a fairly
sloppy trip from Sarasota to St. Pete. The wind was
15-20 out of the NE and needless to say, Tampa Bay was a
little less than pleasant.
One of
the highlights of the trip was the going to the Golden
Apple Dinner Theater to witness “The Full Monty”. All
the girls loved it!!!!
We also
had a fun packed day at Busch Gardens where some of the
brave soles (including Bob and Doris Ferry) rode the
roller coasters.
Our
dinner at Bern’s Steak House (followed by the tour of
the kitchen and their million bottle wine cellar) was
topped off by decadent desserts. For those who had
never dined there, this was probably one of the
highlights of the trip.
Our
dinners at St. Pete YC, Tampa YC and Venice YC were also
excellent. It is fair to say that no one went hungry on
this cruise.
Exciting
mechanical animal races, a limousine ride to the Jungle
Gardens in Sarasota, a ghost tour of St. Pete, several
lively games of Left/Right/Center, and imbibing in
“Hummer” drinks with RPYC friends were some of the other
highlights of this memorable cruise.
