A cruise to Naples will be fun

Twenty
“artsy” minded boaters signed up for our 2nd
Annual Art Festival Cruise to Naples. To ensure
everyone would be accommodated, dockage was reserved
at both Naples Sailing & Yacht Club and Naples Yacht
Club. With outstanding weather forecasted, and the
anticipation of a great and fun cruise, many of our
boaters showed up early to get in that special party
mood. Both NS&YC and NYC put out their welcome mats
and all the boats settled in for the fun Art
Festival Week-End. The welcome cocktail party was
held at NS&YC on the outside Bar Deck offering
spectacular views of both Naples Harbor and the
Gordon River. A unique menu was offered for the
Cruiser’s Dinner that followed in the main Dining
Room. We were please to have 42 cruisers in
attendance. Saturday morning, NS&YC prepared a
“special breakfast buffet” for the RPYC members,
then sent us off for a day of exploring shops, art
displays, galleries and restaurants in downtown
Naples. With the temperature reaching 92 degrees,
accomplishing our goals of seeing all that was
offered was a feat in it’s self. After our trek up
and down 5th Avenue, the swimming pools
at both yacht clubs were in full use. On Saturday
night, a special evening was arranged for our
cruisers and attending members at NYC. Our
cocktail party was held in the main bar over looking
their pool and marina. An outstanding private dinner
followed in the Briggs Room over looking Naples
Harbor. We were again pleased to host 48 RPYC
cruisers and members. Sunday morning’s weather was
again perfect for an enjoyable cruise home. In
October 2007, the 3rd Annual Cruise to
the Naples Art Festival is already being planned, so
arrange your cruising calendars accordingly.
