Venice Yacht Club Cruise

The
Venice Cruise was launched just as a
cold front settled over Southwest
Florida, but it didn't dampen the
spirits of the hearty
cruisers! Bundled up against the
chill and fighting a ferocious
wind as we entered Venice's canal,
the choice of the welcome libation
switched from tropical frozen
rumrunners to hot coffee with Kahlua!
The club's pool went wanting for the
two days of our stay, but
the weather moderated enough to walk
into town for a jazz concert in
the park, and of course ice cream.
Dinners were at the Crow's Nest and
at VYC, with guests joining us each
night. Intrepid cruisers were
Rick and Pam Simon, Pat Maurice and
Joann Huff, Wes and Nancy Judd,
Steve and Marny Hann. Sy and Mimi
Bonarti and Bob and Doris Ferry
joined us by land. Herb and Ellen
Schneider were cruise leaders.
