"The marina at the RPYC was a sight to behold, ablaze with flags, banners, balloons.etc. The members who were part of the Fourth of July Fleet-In had done us proud. Dick and Mary Lou Mullins were awarded the prize for the best decorated boat.
Seven boats participated in the festivities for the long weekend -- and it was a fun-filled weekend. Saturday morning we enjoyed one of Jason's "special" breakfasts. Later we all joined the "hot dog brigade" at the club for lunch, finished decorating our boats and helped decorate the Harbor Room for the Sunday celebration. Notwithstanding the damp and sometimes rainy weather, we played games, enjoyed our "happy hour" and danced the night away in the Bridge Room
Gary Tapken organized a team for the weekend to manage the "up and downs" of the umbrellas on the dock;; the wind thrusts were really strong at times.
While we truly missed the Fort Myers fireworks display on Sunday. there were lots of fireworks up & down the river. We enjoyed our time together played word games' and corn hole toss; there was even a scavenger hunt won by Ellen Schneider and Chris Burger.
Monday morning we departed early for home, avoiding more rain.
