11 RPYC Boats traveled to Tween Waters for a fun, but damp and rainy cruise. They included cruise leaders Kathy and Gary Tapken and Chris and Len Burger, Jim and Bonnie Barnhart, Bob and Karen Thomas, Fred and Debbie Mann, and Lindsey and Rick Scheinert who arrived one day early on Sunday. On Monday the heavens opened wide, but not enough to deter Chester and Pam Blackford with their guest Hash, Tom and Lynn Laskey, Jerry and Kay Smith, Carl and Terri Natale, and Phil and Ann Johnston who all traveled in the rain to enjoy the company of their fellow RPYC friends, and a few Bahama Mamas made by cruise leader Gary Tapken. Those who did not come by boat came by car, and arrived in time for docktails on the Captiva Yacht Club deck, as well as a wonderful Thanksgiving Dinner with all of the trimmings contributed by all. These included Jim and Sharon McKinley, Charlie and Dorothy Munsch, Bill Fanizzo, Liz and Len Zych, and Howard Harrison and Liz Burns (who stayed at the Inn). Just like Thanksgiving, we all ate too much, but it was great. On Tuesday, the cruise leaders prepared breakfast on the dock with a new twist – pancakes and sausage on a stick! It was a hit, and may be seen again on future RPYC cruises. After breakfast, the group enjoyed a few hours at the pool and beach before the rain began again, and again, and again. Luckily, it broke before dinner, and all enjoyed a wonderful time at The Crow’s Nest where they were joined by Jim and Mary Ann Merrill. However, the heavens reopened after dinner, and it was a wet walk back to the dock, where some decided to wait it out over some left over apple pie. On Wednesday morning, everyone met on the dock for a continental breakfast before heading back home. Despite the rain, we all agreed that it was still a good time.
