The
“Leftover’s”…
five
days on
our own.
Three
“Leftover’s,
Scheinert,
Mann,
Fischer
and one
“Picnicker”
Jones,
stopped
at
Venice
Yacht
Club on
the way
to meet
our
fellow
cruisers
in St
Petersburg
and
Tampa.
After
cocktails
on
Boomer
we
enjoyed
an
evening
at the
pool
deck.
Crab
cakes,
VYC’s
signature
entrée,
was
ordered
by most
and even
passed
the test
by our
native
Marylanders,
Deb &
Fred.
Smooth
Gulf
waters
escorted
us to St
Petersburg
Yacht
Club
where we
joined
fellow
“Leftover’s”
Bonnie &
Jim and
Jan &
Tim. St
Pete
with its
picturesque
waterfront
has many
restaurants,
museums
and
shopping
opportunities.
In The
evening
we dined
at an
English
pub “The
Moon
Under
Water”
and
returned
to SPYC
for
dancing
and
after
dinner
libations.
Rick & I
realized
this was
a fun
late
night
group
when the
band
stopped,
the
lights
turned
off, the
yacht
club was
closed.
Another
beautiful
day with
a
morning
bike
ride
along
Old
Tampa
Bay. But
the
highlight
of the
trip to
Howl O
Scream
at Busch
Gardens
was
planned
for the
evening.
Pam &
Chester
joined
us for
spook
houses,
scare
zones,
creepy
shows
and of
course
spine
tingling
roller
coasters
which
kept us
all on
edge.
Friday
in the
late
morning
we took
a docent
tour of
the
Salvador
Dali
Museum
and
later
dined at
SPYC.
Back to
the
lounge
for more
dancing
and what
we did
not get
enough
of last
night.
Saturday
crossed
path’s
with the
Picnickers
as we
headed
to Tampa
Yacht
Club.
More
biking
and
relaxing
with
dinner
at
Bern’s
Steakhouse,
a unique
experience.
Sunday
we all
boarded
Boomer
for
bloody’s
(it was
Halloween)
to Ybor
City
with
lunch at
Carmine’s.
Dinner
was at
TYC and
following
on the
pool
deck,
Jan &
Tim
delighted
us with
White
Dove’s,
an ice
cream
aperitif,
which
accompanied
our
newly
rolled
Ybor
City
cigars.
Great
weather
, fun
people;
being a
“Leftover”
was
pretty
good.
Thanks
for
joining
us.
