Our
annual
New
Year’s
Eve
fleet-in
was
well
attended
with
twelve
boats
arriving
on
Thursday
morning;
some
still
adorned
with
holiday
decorations.
Dock
Master
Bill,
ably
assisted
by
new
intern
Taylor,
was
right
on
hand
to
lend
help
with
docking.
The
group
met
at
six
o’clock
in
the
lounge
for
cocktails
followed
by a
pasta
bar
or
menu
selected
dinner
and
enjoyed
the
camaraderie
of
fellow
members.
Tables
were
mixed
using
small
wooden
boat
models
replicating
each
member’s
own
boat
thanks
to
"master
craftsman"
Lars
Larson.
Following
dinner
all
retired
to
the
Ford
Room
on
the
lower
level
for
ice
cream,
cookies
and
pop
corn
and
a
showing
of
"How
to
Play
the
Game"
starring
Andy
Griffith.
Friday
morning
a
full
breakfast
buffet
was
served
in
the
lower
lounge
amidst
the
usual
friendly
chatting
and
demonstrations
of
recently
acquired
I
Pads.
The
afternoon
was
spent
leisurely
with
some
taking
naps
in
hopes
of
enduring
a
longer
than
usual
evening
to
witness
the
countdown
to
the
New
Year.
On
Saturday
evening
guests
began
arriving
for
cocktails
and
hor’dorves
at
seven-thirty
and
were
greeted
by a
tuxedo-clad
doorman
who
we
recognized
as
Taylor
our
new
intern.
On
entering
the
Wheelhouse
dining
room
guests
were
treated
to a
view
of
New
Year
decorations
and
magnificent
table
decorations
prepared
by
our
own
Commodore
Herb
and
wife
Ellen.
As
the
countdown
approached
hats
and
horns
were
distributed
in
preparation
for
ushering
in
year
2011.
At
the
appointed
hour
horns
blew,
balloons
descended
from
the
ceiling,
and
friends
offered
best
wishes
to
all
for
a
happy
and
healthy
New
Year.
Cruise
Leaders
Barb
and
Gene
Greco
and
Karen
and
Bob
Thomas
wish
to
extend
their
appreciation
to
the
RPYC
staff
for
their
assistance
in
making
this
a
great
Fleet-In.
