Although
“the
weather
outside
was
frightful”
the
party
inside
“was
so
delightful”
as
over
70
Club
members
enjoyed
an
evening
of
good
food,
dancing,
and
fellowship
at
this
season’s
Winter
Wonderland
Ball.
The
decorations
in
the
atrium
and
dinning
room
were
festive
and
elegant.
Once
again
Chef
Justin
performed
his
magic
and
presented
an
eye
appealing
and
delicious
tasting
meal.
Not
only
did
the
RPYC
staff
provide
outstanding
service,
but
when
the
need
arose
Dominic
came
to
the
rescue
to
prevent
Past
Commodore
McMahon
from
suffering
a
“major
wardrobe
malfunction”.
A
round
of
applause
was
given
to
Mr.
and
Mrs.
James
Merrill
as
the
couple
took
to
the
dance
floor
in a
“spotlight
dance”
as
they
celebrated
their
51st
wedding
anniversary.
The
evening’s
entertainment
was
simply
great
as
nearly
half
of
those
in
attendance
stayed
to
enjoy
the
music
and
dance
the
night
away
until
11:00;
well
after
the
usual
“Royal
Palm
midnight”.
The
Saturday
boaters’
activities
included
cocktails
aboard
Mr.
and
Mrs.
Bernstein’s
boat
“Tonto’s
Reward”
and
a
lounge
held
“white
elephant
auction”
gift
exchange
was
a
real
hit
although
you
are
likely
to
see
some
of
the
same
gifts
passing
hands
at
the
next
auction
event.
And
by
the
way,
our
Commodore
Market
enjoyed
three,
yes
three
servings,
of
the
wonderful
peppermint
ice-cream
dessert.
