"On Saturday, March 14th 51 Royal Adventurers attended one of the club's biggest cultural events of the year, the Sarasota Opera. But before we departed the RPYC our excited members were "jump-started" with hot coffee, donuts, bloodies and mimosas. We then boarded our bus for a short 1-1/2 hour ride to Pino's Italian resturant where everyone enjoyed authentic cooking in a traditional setting with loads of atmosphere. Afterwards we took a short walk to the opera house where we had PRIME reserved seats for Puccini's Tosca. As expected, the stage settings were beautifully designed to support the incredible performers. So, even though there was the usual death and tragedy, we still departed on a "high note." We then boarded our bus which was parked right in front and our "opera lovers" were served wine, beer, and soda during our trip back to the club. The event leaders were Joe Lupo and Ernie Fogg with special assists by Maja, Bev, Linda and Bill who made sure that there were no empty glasses! What a memorable day for all concerned. Now, we are in the process of obtaining approval and pricing for our next opera, Mozart's "The Magic Flute" which will be a matinee on Saturday, March 13, 2010 as selected by our member survery."
