The International Order of the Blue Gavel (IOBG) is a worldwide association of past commodores of recognized yacht clubs. On April 18th the RPYC Past Commodores Mates Association (PCMA) acted as the greeters for the visiting IOBG District #8 Members attending a reorganization meeting at the Royal Palm Yacht Club. The District elected and reaffirmed a new slate of Officers who will carry on the business functions and social activities of the organization until the annual elections in the fall of 2009.
During the morning meeting, P/C Lee Clifford, a Past Commodore of the Fort Myers Beach Yacht Club and a member of the RPYC was elected to the position of District #8 President and RPYC Past Commodore Robert Pease was elected to the position of Secretary Treasurer. Following the meeting the group had lunch in the Harbor Room and that evening they met for cocktails in the lower lounge followed by dinner in the club room where they enjoyed dining and the music of Carlos.
