Adventure Leaders Recognized

Three Adventure Leaders were recognized at the May 1, 2008 Royal Adventurers meeting for leading two very successful Adventures: Elaine Slaughter for leading the Tomato Patch Adventure, and Pat and Margie Connor for leading the Butcher Gallery and Museum of the Everglades Adventure. Chairman Herb Schneider presented them with Royal Adventure Tervis Tumblers.

New Adventures Scheduled

May 12, 2008 (Mon) Selby Botanical Gardens and Columbia Restaurant

Throughout the grounds of the historic Selby estate are many distinct garden areas, including the Tropical Display House with its lush rain forest atmosphere, the towering Bamboo Pavilion, Banyan Grove, Cactus and Succulent Garden and Cycad Collection. Also on the grounds is the former Christy Payne Mansion, a unique example of eclectic Southern Colonial architecture. The Mansion, on the National Register of Historic Places, is the home to ever-changing botanical art and photography exhibits. Lunch will be at the Columbia Restaurant on St. Armands Circle.

Send your check for $13 pp made out to Royal Adventures to Elaine Slaughter at 2239 SE 27th Street, Cape coral, 33904 to guarantee your reservation. Cut-off date for reservations is May 8, 2008. Admission to the gardens is included; carpools will be arranged.

2009 Adventures – Advance Reservations

Reservations are now being accepted for the following Adventures:

March 14, 2009 – Sarasota Opera, Tosca, Ernie Fogg and Joe Lupo, Adventure Leaders. The approximate cost will be $130 per person. The deposit is $30 per person. We already have 20 reservations (limited to 50).

March 19, 2009 – “Wicked” at the Barbara Mann Performing Arts Center, Elaine Slaughter and Susan Fay, Adventure leaders. The approximate cost will be $100 per person. The deposit is $25 per person.

Deposit checks made out to Royal Adventurers may be sent to the Adventure Leaders.
